My frinds have two welsh cobs, full sisters, the eldest (by 6 years) is Gwener. The sisters were impregnated at the start of the year by a welsh cob stallion. Gwener gave birth to her first foal, Whiskey on the ?of?05. He was x weeks overdue and very week. After 45 minutes he was helped up as unable to get to his feet on his own. After x hours he was still unable to suckle milk from Gwener and the vet was called. Gwener was milked and Whiskey was fed his colostorum directly to the stomach via tube down his nose. The poor foal had also bumped his head on the way into the world and had a droopy bottom lip as a result. Desite all this at 4 weeks he is a playful foal who enjoys backing over saplings and hooning around the paddock
